Here I am again... 
Standing at the edge
Starring into the abyss of the unknown
Energy rushing through my body
Feeling that uncomfortable feeling 
I've called fear for most of my life. 
Knowing that in taking one more step 
I will face a great change

My body tenses
Wanting to run
To hide
To disappear 
Feeling raw
Feeling scared
Feeling afraid

Yet something in me chooses
To face that which terrifies me
To become
More naked 
More daring
More exposed
Brave
Vulnerable

An perhaps like the fool 
Returning to the cliff yet again
After a full cycle of life
And learning

I take a breath
Relax my body
And trusting 
In something beyond the mind
Take a tender step
Into the darkness
Into my becoming 
Into a new me.
