Vesta (Poem & Song)
Poetry for the Soul by Aloha Jacqueline
I've carried a sacred flame For as long as I can remember But to survive I had to Keep it hidden Keep it burning But keep it low. Over years I met women Again and again Who sparked the flame But it scared them away, And for a very long time, It scared me too. I needed to Become the fire Become the flame Become the temple Claim my place Become the woman I was seeking But I was terrified... Finally one day, I surrendered To the fear Feeling everything Unlocking all the doors That had kept me safe. Making my sacrifice sacred On the altar of surrender. Becoming the fire Becoming the flame Becoming the temple Claiming my place Becoming the woman I had been seeking. Claiming my name! Alchemizing the pain Into beauty, wisdom, truth Never to be suppressed again. Finally seeing Feeling Everything! Becoming the fire Becoming the flame Becoming the temple Claiming my place Becoming the woman I had been seeking. Claiming my name!
PS: I wrote the first version of this poem in December 2025. I revised and refined it 8th April 2026 and worked with ai to co-produce it into a potent song, which you can hear On Soundcloud! Let me know which version speaks to you the most?!
